In computing, virtual memory is a memory management technique developed for multitasking kernels. This technique virtualizes a computer architecture's various forms of computer data storage , allowing a program to be designed as though there is only one kind of memory, "virtual" memory, which...

or, in networking, when referring to a virtual network address. Virtual memory may be simulated by a hard disk, allowing an application to operate as though the computer has more physical memory than actually installed.

Address generated by the CPU is called the Logical address(Virtual Address) and it is mapped to the virtual address space. Generally Virtual address space is more when compared to the Main Memory address space.
