The Vlaamse Televisie Sterren is organised by the Vlaamse Televisie Academie vzw.
There are around 10 categories of Vlaamse Televisie Sterren, the new Flemish
television prizes. The next ceremony will be in the beginning of 2012.
Each year the categories are evaluated to be sure that every category is able to represent the everchanging trends of television. Every ceremony is aired on television. The rights for the ceremony are shared by the two most important television stations in Flanders
: the national television station Eén
and the commercial television station Vtm
. They will follow each other up each year to show the ceremony.

The voting procedure
The winner of each category becomes voted in 2 steps:- The members of the Academy nominate first their 4 favorites for each category at a longlist. Those results become shorted to a shortlist with 4 nominations for each category.
- At the second round, the members of the Academy vote for each category for their own personal winner from the shortlist. The personality or program with the most votes, wins the Vlaamse Televisiester.
