Market

Volkswagen has ambitions of selling 300,000 units over a period of seven years. The company expects that 60% of these sales (about 26,000 units per year) will come from the US market. Pricing will start at $27,100 for the sport trim level and range to greater than $40,000 for the VR6 4Motion trim level.

In China, the CC was released by FAW-VW on July 15, 2010, and is available in 1.8TSI and 2.0TSI trims.

The North American market will receive the 2.0T and 3.6L VR6 engine options. This version of the VR6 engine offers an output of 206 kW and 265 lbft of torque available in both front wheel drive and 4MOTION versions while the 2.0T produces 200 hp 207 lbft. Manual transmission is available in the 2.0T engine option only.

On the European market the CC is offered with 4MOTION four-wheel drive on the 2.0-litre TDI engines. The 103 kW model comes with manual transmission and the 125 kW model with Direct-Shift Gearbox

Late 2010 upgrade

Correlating with the release of the Passat VII the CC received an upgraded interior; the same as in the Passat VII. The parking brake was moved to the center console, interior trim improved and an analogue clock was placed above the sound/navi system. In addition to offering the 155 kW 2.0T, both TDI engines are now BlueMotion Technology with reduced fuel consumption, starting at 125g CO₂/ km (manual front wheel drive 103 kW version).

The US Volkswagen CC can be purchased with four trim options:
  • CC Sport - available with the Manual or Automatic transmission
  • CC R-Line- available with the Manual or Automatic transmissions as well as unique set of wheels and other features
  • CC Lux - only available in Automatic transmission but with "tiptronic" and other features
  • CC VR6 4Motion Executive - larger V6 engine with Automatic transmission
