Vuzit launched as a product of Hovitate LLC in December 2006, but eventually the company changed its name to Vuzit LLC. Vuzit won the Most Innovative Product or Service Award sponsored by Ben Franklin Technology Partners. Vuzit later participated in the DreamIt Ventures seed capital program, and eventually received angel investments from Robin Hood Ventures
