Davis is the only school in the Peel District School Board to have the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP) available to grade 7 and 8 students. Around 400-900 students apply each year for the program, but only about 50-55 students are selected. The program offers an intensive and challenging curriculum. The school does not have an extended french program anymore, as of September 2012. It also has a hard-of-hearing
class. W.G.Davis also has a regular English program for the neighbourhood kids.
The school offers clubs such as chess, bands (instrumental), choirs, and student parliament. Davis is also the home to many sports teams, including basketball, flag football, 3-pitch, volleyball, soccer, cross-country running, track and field, and badminton. The Music Program at Davis is also known in its area and district for its excellency. There are three ensembles, a Junior Wind, Senior Wind and Jazz Unlimited . There are also three different choirs, concert choir, gentlemen's chorus and vivace.
Also, the school has many educational competitions, including the Guass Math Contest for grades 7 and 8, the CHAMP Math Contest, the Math Olympics, and the Science fair, in which groups are chosen to go to the Peel Regional Science Fair and then, the National Science Fair of Canada. The results of the 2009 Champ Math competition include 1st, 3rd and 5th overall in all of Peel, and students from the school have been selected to attend the National Science Fair of Canada on various occasions, many times bringing back awards. These projects from this particular school have a very reputation and are known for excellency.
As of September 2012, various changes will be brought upon the school. The French Immersion program will be relocated to another school and most importantly Davis will become a proper middle school. This means that Grade 6 students from Helen Wilson P.S, Sir Wilfrid Laurier P.S and Parkway P.S will be joing the school.
