History

In the early 1970s, it was playing a progressive rock format. In the mid 1970's WAAL was known as WAAL Stereo FM 99. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, it was known as The Hot FM, which played Top 40. WAAL was acquired by Citadel Broadcasting
