1963
WPUP is sold to WUWU Radio, Inc. which changes the callsign to WUWU adopting the "Woo-Woo" name but retaining the country format.
1971
WUWU is sold to Olivia broadcasting which changes the callsign to WAKA and flips its format to beautiful music adopting the slogan "AM 1390, The Only One To Turn To."
1978
WAKA is sold to Nabco, Inc. and calling itself 14K, the station modifies its format slightly to Middle Of the Road (MOR).
1981
WAKA becomes adult contemporary WKGR under new owners, Kent Gainesville Radio.
1983
WKGR is sold to the Sunshine Wireless company which changes calls to WMGI "Magic 1390" with a Jazz/Urban Contemporary format. Sunshine already owned WYKS
and added WKGR to have an A.M. station in the market.
1986
1390 once again becomes country & taking the WDVH calls after the format & calls leave 980 kHz (which became WLUS).
1987
1390 is sold to the current owner, Gillen Broadcasting with WYKS for $1.9 million. 1390's callsign changes finally settle down with it becoming the current WAJD with a Top 40 format only to flip formats again that same year to all news "Newsradio 1390".
