Encyclopedia
WEMTA is the Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Association. It serves school library media and instructional technology professionals and is affiliated with the American Association of School Librarians and the International Society for Technology in Education.
Providing programs and services that enhance the professional growth of all members.
Representing information, communication, and technology interests to the general public, policymakers, and the educational community.
Advocating our members’ role as instructional leaders and key players within the educational community.
Promoting leadership and advocacy for information access, intellectual freedom and life-long learning.

, WEMTA members unified statewide advocacy for libraries, including an annual Library Legislative Day, co-sponsored by the Wisconsin Library Association.
Members are provided a regular newsletter with local and regional information of interest. A number of awards and scholarships are presented to deserving individuals at the annual spring conference. The association also awards grants for creative uses of information and technology literacy in education. WEMTA sponsors the Golden Archer Award, to authors of books nominated by students throughout the state of Wisconsin. Students in grades 4-8 can participate in the statewide Battle of the Books program, also sponsored by WEMTA.
Mission
The purpose of the Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Association (WEMTA) is to embrace individuals involved in the support, utilization, and integration of information, communication, and technology and to advance their efforts to improve student growth and achievement by:Providing programs and services that enhance the professional growth of all members.

Programs and Services
