WJXL 1010 AM, known on-air as 1010 XL, is a sports radio
station licensed to Jacksonville Beach, Florida
, owned and operated by Seven Bridges Radio, under its president Steve Griffin. Griffin also serves as General Manager of the station.
WJXL adopted its current format on April 2, 2007. It is the radio home to JU Dolphins
football, basketball, and baseball games.
WJXL has six broadcast towers and has the largest broadcast signal of any radio station in Jacksonville at 50,000 watts. However, the station's antenna is directional towards the east, to protect WQYK (AM)
in Tampa, Florida
; and is coupled at night with a lower power of 30,000 watts, to protect New York City
's WINS

's CFRB
, and Calgary, Alberta's CBR

The station broadcasts from the Nimnicht Studios at 9090 Hogan Rd. in Jacksonville
. WJXL is the only sports station in Jacksonville that features local hosts from 6am to 9pm. ESPN Radio
airs during the times that the station is not airing local programming.
WJXL took many of the radio personalities from the former sports radio station WZNZ
, which changed to a religious format the day before WJXL picked up the sports format.
In the summer of 2009, the station added two long-time Jacksonville radio personalities when former WFXJ
morning show host David Lamm and former WOKV Sports Director and Jaguars
Radio Network studio host Cole Pepper. Lamm initially teamed with McManus and Sam Kouvaris
from 10-1am, but after a few weeks, the show was split with Lamm covering from 11:15am-1pm. McManus left to join WFXJ. Pepper joined the Frank Frangie Show from 4-7pm and also hosts the stations own Jaguars pre-game and post-game shows and also "Florida Football Sunday," a day-after show dedicated to the Florida Gators, as well as the Friday Night Lights Pre-game show, part of the station's high school coverage.
On October 10, 2011, after dropping the Lex and Terry
show, "Sport Final Radio" was moved from the weekday 10am-1pm slot to 6am-10am hosted by current First Coast News
Sports Director Dan Hicken
and former FCN sports anchor Jeff Prosser. "XL Primetime" was moved to the 10am-1pm slot vacated by "Sports Final Radio".
Mike Dempsey hosts the Mike Dempsey Show from 1-3pm and The Football Show from 3-4pm year round.
Rick Ballou and Frank Frangie host the Frank Frangie show Monday through Friday from 4-7 pm.
