, USA, the station serves the Mid-Ohio area. The station is owned and operated by Ashland University (formerly Ashland College). The station's studios are located in the Center for The Arts building (formerly Arts & Humanities, or A&H). The transmitter and its antenna are located in the top floor of the library.
This station also houses shows like 'The Sweet Spot' hosted by Kim Sweet. Music range keeps within Indie genre and special guests such as bands and various artists have been on the show. The show typically takes place on weekends and is a lengthy 3-4 hours. Other shows such as 'Welcome to Insanity' hosted by J.Lyn and FCA provide a bit more variety to the music including songs from Disney Movies and many underground artists. Hours for this show vary semester to semester.
The DJ Danny and Lil B-Ri show is hosted by Daniel Griffin and Brian Young respectively. The show is a variety show and consists of a playlist of Alternative music compiled by Brian and Dan. The show also occasionally has co-hosts DJ K-Robes and DJ SDC.
DJ SDC, Jeff McNerney, also has a romance advice show on Sundays from 10-12 PM. The show is co-hosted by Cassie Mosley. The music played is a 'mixed bag' intertwined with requests. They do two weeks of Christmas music between the end of Thanksgiving Break and Winter Break.
The station gets its call letters from the initials of Richard Dean Leidy, an adjunct professor that founded the radio/television department, at what was then called Ashland College. He led the department from 1960 to 1988, when he retired.
In 1993, student staff adopted the nickname "The Eagle," because it was easier to say than the call letters. The name references the university's mascot, the Eagles.
From 1997-2000, DJ Christian Kang and DJ Adam Zuch hosted the 'The Ashland Underground' on WRDL. The highly successful four hour show on Sunday nights was the first all-electronic dance music
formatted program in the North Central Ohio area.

WRDL is home to The Tuesday Night Delight from seven to eight pm hosted by Max Julian, Ryan Augustitus and Garrett Wienecke. History
WRDL began broadcasting from tiny studios in Founder's Hall in 1971. Originally at 88.1 on the dial, the 10-watt station's transmitter was located atop Clayton Hall, the tallest dormitory on the campus. Later the frequency was moved to 89.5 to avoid conflicts with other nearby non-commercial educational stations. In the 1980s the power was increased to 3,000 watts, and the station dial position was moved to 88.9.
