WUNH broadcast in FM at 1750V/1750H watts beginning in 1972. In 1997 the station received classification as a type A radio station, and began broadcasting at 6000V/1400H watts, allowing a coverage area that spans from southeastern to central New Hampshire and extends as far north as Cumberland county in Maine and south to Essex county in Massachusetts. Shows

Shows are run by UNH students and community members. General programming shows include a minimum of 60% new (released within the past 60 days) independently released music. Specialty shows focus on a specific genre. Currently, there are shows dedicated to reggae, classical, jazz, polka, country, bluegrass, blues, space rock, metal, celtic, world, folk, showtunes, hip-hop, electronica, and metal.

News

WUNH has recently expanded its news department. Under the leadership of Daniel Day (often known on air as D-DAY), the news department currently airs ninety-second news updates, branded as "NewsWaves," during the afternoon commute hours. The news department also airs occasional news specials discussing various issues and events, as well as interviews with presidential candidates running in the New Hampshire Primary

Sports

WUNH also broadcasts a selection of UNH football, basketball, and hockey contests. They broadcast all men's hockey playoff games and most of their regular season games. These games are broadcast by members of the Wildchats sports talk show. Wildchats airs 6pm-8pm on Thursday nights. They talk mainly New England sports and oftentimes have special guests on the show such as Jack Edwards, Jackie MacMullan
