on May 23, 2008. The new station was assigned the call letters KCFF by the FCC on February 6, 2009. This assignment, possibly by accident, makes KCFF the only "K" lettered call sign in the Commonwealth of Virginia and one of a handful east of the Mississippi. On October 15, 2009, KCFF became WVRI.
