According to the band's official website, the music video released on Tuesday, July 31, 12:00 AM PST and premiered on MTV
's website in August 2007. On MTV and VH1, the video was shortened and changed up a bit. In the director's cut, Levine's girlfriend says "We both fucked up". In the edited version, it was replaced by "We both screwed up". The edited version also ends with Levine just going to sleep in his cell instead of being executed in the electric chair as well as the sex, pole dancing scenes being less explicit. The music video has been viewed over 8 million times.
