Walter John Mueller was a professional baseball player who played outfield
in the Major Leagues from 1922 to 1926. Mueller would play for the Pittsburgh Pirates
. On May 27, 1922 he became the first major leaguer ever to hit a home run
on his first pitch ever seen in the Major Leagues.
His brother, Heinie Mueller, who played baseball in the Major Leagues, also hit a home run in his first Major League at-bat on April 19, 1938 making the brothers the only pair of relatives to accomplish the feat.
