Despite being only 17 years old and 60 days Wang Dalei would start his professional football career with Shanghai United on March 11, 2006 against Inter Xian in a 1-1 draw that made him the youngest professional goalkeeper in Chinese history and he quickly made an impact within the team by establishing himself as their first choice goalkeeper.
