Waterfront Monorail Station
Encyclopedia
Waterfront Station is the second station of Sentosa Express
monorail
in Singapore
. While a skeletal station structure was built for the initial opening of the line on 15 January 2007, it never opened to the public. Trains stopped at the station, but however, opened the doors.
The initial station was dismantled in December 2007 to make way for the construction of the Resorts World
casino and theme park complex underneath and around it. During the reconstruction period, trains still stopped at the station site briefly before proceeding to Imbiah Station.
Scheduled to reopen on 20 January 2010, the opening was postponed "until further notice". Since then, trains stopped at the completed station. Train doors and the half height platform screen doors are opened, but a barrier at the platform screen doors prevented anyone from alighting. The station was finally opened on 1 February 2010.
The livery and colour code of the station is Lime green.
