Originally since 2002, the developer company Westcom had created online applications for large customers and had developed a system they could use for making it easier to programmers to launch and create new websites. From this framework
system that was developed came the idea of creating a website builder

First was launched the Czech version and then the Slovak version became operational in early June. By the end of 2008 Webnode had more than 200,000 users in more than 80 countries around the world, including the United States, Spain and China. Two years later, in 2010 it was more than 2 000 000 users and it had 12 language versions.
