O termo "webnovela", traduzido para Inglês significa "romance web". É como uma novela de televisão com atores e trilha sonora, entre outras características. Sua base, principalmente, é uma ficção de fãs, onde os fãs de uma série certos ou novela (em espanhol telenovela) ou um ator ou atriz certos criar uma história com base nelas.
