and West Point Manufacturing Company in Georgia
three of the oldest names in the textile industry.
West Point merged with Pepperell in 1965, and purchased J.P. Stevens in 1988. It was taken private in 2000, and eventually went bankrupt. Icahn Enterprises took a majority holding in the company in 2005.
Their brands now number many diverse lines of textiles including: Martex, Stevens, Lady Pepperell and others. They also manufacture under license Ralph Lauren Home and Charisma lines.
