For the last 5 years or so the music department at Westborough has grown into one of the most publicly viewed department at Westborough with many excellent concerts in the summer and winter time for all ages performed by the students. This is coming from a one-roomed music school to the new performing arts block. There are many important bands also that have started at Westborough most notoriously the Samba band and Drumline which have performed in Batley Park, York and on Sky TV during a rugby match.
Westborough High School achieved the third successive year of record rises in GCSE results with 54% of young people achieving 5 or more GCSE passes at A* to C. 34% of those include English and Maths which is a 6% rise on last year and exceeds the 30% target set by the Government.
