Western Conference (AIHL)

The Western Conference is one of two conferences in the American Inline Hockey League
(AIHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Eastern Conference
.
It was created in 2008
with the creation of the AIHL. The AIHL aligned its teams into two conferences and six divisions. The conference was named for the geographical location of its teams.
The conference was re-aligned in 2010
when the AIHL added its eighth division.

In 2010, the AIHL added the newly formed Great Lakes Division to the Eastern Conference, while moving the Gulf Coast Division to the Western Conference, giving each conference four divisions. Currently the Eastern Conference comprises 21 teams in four divisions: Colonial, Great Lakes, Mid Atlantic, and New England.
