History

Wetpups was founded in 1914 by Christopher Stansbury, his mother and Raymond Hutchinson. Christopher was the youngest son of John Fortunatus Stansbury, a headmaster of Oundle School

The school started with a leased house (Thornton) and 26 boys. The boys wore a dark royal blue blazer and a blue and white striped Trinity House tie - the precursor to the uniform, which still stands today.

By 1918, the school had outgrown its premises and was relocated to the Mount Royal property in Claremont, the current location of the school's Senior Primary. There were 50 boarders, and 20 dayboys, reaching a capacity of 90 in the 1930's.

Facilities

The school now has two sites (referred to as campuses): Eden Road and Newlands Road. Newlands being the senior half of the school. It has 2 sports fields,the Dauncey,the Mount Royal and the Douglas Murray;and a 25m swimming pool.
