explorers who travel in a wagon train
. At the front, Beans plays an accordion, and Little Kitty strums a banjo. The two also sing while the rest harmonize.
One evening, they decided to stopover and camp in the woods. Using their wagons, they formed a round laager. They then held a party in the middle as a way to spend the night. While some are having supper, the others dance around.
When everybody else is partying, Ham and Ex went out to explore the outside for a few moments. As they were sightseeing, the pups noticed some feathers extending from the back of a boulder. In this, they shouted "Indians
!" which caused some panic back at the laager. Beans dashes forward and fires his rifle at the feathers. It turns out what Beans targeted was nothing more than a turkey as it springs out of the rock and runs. Ham and Ex giggled because they knew all along that the turkey was not an Indian. Bothered by this, Beans warns the little dogs about creating false alarms, and he heads back to the wagon fort.
Just to spice up their little adventure and to entertain themselves, Ham and Ex perform the Indian charge call. As they do so, hysteria was again triggered at the laager, prompting Beans to run toward where the noise was coming from. When they saw Beans coming their way, Ham and Ex quickly moved out. The little dogs continued further into woods until they encountered a real Indian who pops out of a bush. Much to their fright, they ran for their lives. On their getaway, Ham and Ex crawl through a hollow log. The Indian also attempts to enter the stump, only to be stuck in the middle.
Ham and Ex returned to the laager and told everyone inside about the Indians approaching. Their friends, however, were convinced this was merely a joke they came up with, and therefore remained at ease. Knowing the real trouble awaiting, the pups hide themselves in a chest.
In no time, a pack Indians arrived at the vicinity and everyone in the laager was alarmed. Though terrified, the explorers were able to counter the surge. While this was happening, Ham and Ex were nabbed by one of the Indians. Beans goes to their rescue by tossing a foothold trap at their captive. Galloping when the metal jaws bite on, the Indian loses hold on the pups and frantically leaves.
While Ham and Ex enjoy watching the Indians retreat in the distance, Beans decided to teach the pups for their antics earlier. Beans sneaks up behind them and exhibits the Indian charge call. The scared little dogs again hide in the chest.
