. The population was 2,867 at the 2010 census.
In this town, a new development is underway for a 1700 acres (6.9 km²) mixed use community called Anson. Anson http://www.ansonindiana.com is not a stand alone city and is a part of Whitestown, being a planned neighborhood. It is a home to many new businesses, including Medco Health Solutions and ASILimited.
In addition, Anson includes residential, office, healthcare and retail developments, including a Lowe's
home improvement center.
The location is along Interstate 65, between the exits at State Road 334 and State Road 267, this master planned community has been developed by Duke Realty Corporation http://www.dukerealty.com. The north side of the campus is called AllPoints at Anson and is a joint development between Duke and Browning Investments http://www.allpointsindiana.com/apa.aspx.
It is named for Boone County native Anson Mills
, an accomplished surveyor, builder, civil engineer, Union Army officer, inventor, diplomat, and author.
When finished between 2011 and 2026, Anson is expected to directly employ nearly 25,000 people with an annual payroll of more than $868 million.

living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.6% were non-families. 20.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.10.
In the town the population was spread out with 29.5% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 37.4% from 25 to 44, 21.0% from 45 to 64, and 7.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 103.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males.
