about 5 miles (8 km) south west of the town of Market Rasen
in the West Lindsey
district of Lincolnshire

Wickenby existed at the time of Domesday Book
of 1086 when it consisted of fifteen households.
The parish church is a limestone
grade II* listed building dedicated to Saint Peter
and Saint Lawrence
and dating from the 12th century, althought it was restored in 1868 by George Gilbert Scott. In the east wall of the south aisle is set a brass to Henry Millner, who died in 1635.
Wickenby railway station
on the Sheffield and Lincolnshire Extension Railway, opened in 1848 and closed in 1965.
