History

Wild East formed in 2000 and quickly gathered attention with their first release which was a spaghetti western

 trailer compilation entitled "A Fistful of Trailers." Soon they started remastering actual spaghetti western films in their original aspect ratios and gained a reputation among DVD collectors with their quality release of the Lee Van Cleef

. All of their releases are limited editions and prove to be difficult to find once they are out of stock. The artwork usually is a slightly altered version of original poster artwork and later releases include liner notes on the back of the box art by genre expert Charles Ambler. They are praised for their effort put into releasing rare Italian films but early on they were criticized for poor customer service and not releasing films in widescreen anamorphic format, which they have since changed.

As of June 2011, Wild East had issued more than 40 DVDs.
