Zaha started the 2011-2012 season in good form, coming off the bench at home against Coventry City to assist 2 goals and secure a great comeback from 1-0 down to win the game 2-1. Both of the goals came in extra-time. A week later Zaha scored 2 second half goals in a League Cup game at home to Crawley Town. In the following league cup game at home to Wigan Athletic Zaha again proved to be the pivotal player assisting the first of the goals in a 2-1 win. Zaha scored his third goal in the 2011-2012 League Cup opening the scoring at home to Middlesbrough F.C.
