Willoughby Hamilton was an Irish male tennis
player.
Hamilton won the Wimbledon Championships in 1890, becoming the first Irish player to win the tournament. The previous year, he had won both the Irish and North England Championships, defeating the great William Renshaw in the former. For the span 1889-90, Hamilton was ranked by many as the best tennis player in the world.
