Winners Bracket is a sport
s-related television program
that airs on ABC
. Hosted by Michelle Beadle
and Marcellus Wiley
, it premiered at 5 p.m. ET April 3, 2010 on the American Broadcasting Company
. The show is the second hour of the two-hour block ESPN Sports Saturday
.
The show consists of a recap and debate of the week in sports by pitting 16 of the biggest stories of the week against each other in a seeded bracket. Along with Beadle and Wiley, other ESPN experts such as Mike Greenberg, Digger Phelps
, Jalen Rose
, and Colin Cowherd
offer their perspective during each round of debate. Each competition is generally themed ("most shocking," "best defense," etc.), with online voters determining the winner of each competition. The show is broadcast from the same studio used for SportsNation
(which is also co-hosted by Beadle), and borrows several elements from that show.
Other segments of the show include a collection of sound bytes from athletes and coaches, a taste of that week in sports history, a countdown of the 20 "lowlights" from the week, sports-themed web videos, and some of the highlights that just missed being in the bracket.
