1997 the race was known as the ‘Perrier Mineral Water Stakes’
1998 - 1999 the race was known as the ‘Perrier Stakes’
2000, 2009-onwards the race was known as the ‘Herbert Power Stakes’
2001-08 the race was called the ‘Winning Edge Presentations Stakes’.
Posiedon also won the Caulfield Cup (1906) after his Herbert Power win.
