Biography

Within the Ruins founding members Joe Cocchi (Guitar) and "Drummer" met and started the band during their high school years (2003). The band went through some line-up changes and finally began working on their first self released EP entitled "Driven By Fear" which was completed in 2005. Followed by the release, the band began touring (DIY) in late 2006 in an effort to gain exposure and label recognition. With the release of their second EP "Empires" the band received an offer from Victory Records in late 2008 and headed into the studio to record their debut album "Creature" which was released in February 2009. One year later the band's second official release entitled "Invade" hit stores in September of 2010 scanning over 3000 copies in its first week. With this release the bands popularity in the underground metal scene began to grow. The band has most recently toured with Carnifex (Victory Records) and has been part of a number of 2011 festivals thus far including The Jamboree, New England Metal and Hardcore Festival
