As part of Southampton City Council's review of secondary schooling program called Learning Futures, the school closed in July 2008. It merged with Grove Park Business and Enterprise College
in September 2008 to become Oasis Academy Mayfield
with the Woolston site (although it is still being used for KS4
students). When building work for the new school gets finished (predicted for 2011), the site will be handed over to the Local Education Authority.
