Yale is an unincorporated town in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It was founded in 1848 by the Hudson's Bay Company as Fort Yale by Ovid Allard, the appointed manager of the new post, who named it after his superior, James Murray Yale, then Chief Factor of the Columbia District...

Treaty Process

They have reached Stage 5 in the BC Treaty Process. A treaty moved a step closer on November 20, 2008, when Chief Robert Hope signed an understanding between Yale First Nation and the Province of British Columbia to conclude treaty negotiations between the two parties. The signing represents an interim step prior to the final agreement being initialled by the Province, Yale First Nation and Canada.
