4–0 in the league's first ever match to open the MNL Cup 2009. The club finished second place in group play with 16 points. YUFC lost to Yadanabon FC
in the final on penalty kicks after a hard fought 2–2 draw. In 2010 season, Yangon United FC has built an artificial turf football pitch and gymnasium. According to the team media officer, YUFC Gymnasium is the first Gym among the Myanmar National clubs.
