Kim Jong-woon better known by his stage name
Yesung, is a South Korean idol singer and occasional actor
. He is one of the four lead vocalists of the boy band
Super Junior
. He was once a radio host for his own radio program, M.I.R.A.C.L.E for You, which ended its broadcast in September 2007. His stage name Yesung ( in Hanja
) is translated to "art-like voice" and is derived from the phrase "예술가의 성대", meaning "vocal chords of an artist."

In March 2006, SM Entertainment began to recruit new members for the next Super Junior generation. However, plans changed and the company declared a halt in forming future Super Junior generations. During his career with Super Junior, Yesung was put into two subgroups, smaller groups that are branched off of the larger Super Junior group. In November 2006, Yesung was placed in Super Junior's first subgroup, Super Junior-K.R.Y, a group specializing in singing mournful, R&B ballads. Almost two years later, Yesung became a member of Super Junior-Happy. On May 10, 2008, Yesung was sent to the hospital after he collapsed from running 70 kilometers for a charity marathon. On August 8, Yesung was sent to the hospital again after falling from a 1.5m stage while rehearsing a performance for the KBS music program, Music Bank. The injury severed his old injuries from the neck and waist and Yesung was not treated out of the hospital until two days later.
Last November 6, 2009, he replaced Jonghyun of SHINee
in their Ring Ding Dong performance due to Jonghyun coming down with the swine flu.
Last March 31, 2010, Yesung contributed in the drama OST Cinderella's Sister, starring Moon Geun Young and Chun Jung Myun and started on March 31, 2010. He sang It Has To Be You. This song is a ballad that tells the story about a man who refused to look for another girl, except for the one he loved. Recently, during the epilogue of Super Junior's 2nd Asia Tour Concert, Super Show 2 Manila, he sang this song live on stage and asked his fans to support his new song. Then on June 4, 2010, Yesung performed solo for the first time on Music Bank (TV series)
with his song, It Has To Be You, a highly rated song on the music chart on Music Bank.
Last December 29, 2010, the second part of the KBS drama President OST was released. Yesung, together with Luna

, sang the song entitled Loving You. This song gained affection and support from public.
In January 31, 2011, Yesung's third solo song, the new SBS drama, Paradise Ranch,, OST was released. The song is entitled Waiting For You and is a ballad that tells about a man who is adamant on waiting until the end of the world for his lover to return to him. The drama itself has been gaining attention due to the main cast members Lee Yeon Hee and DBSK’s Changmin. Yesung performed this song for the first time on the first K.R.Y Concert in Seoul, February 11, 2011.
Last July 14, 2011, his second duet with another female artist, namely Jang Hye Jin who is a Korean actress & singer, was released throughout Korea's digital charts. I Am Behind You is from the album Cooperation Part 1 . The song has a fantastic harmony & is mixed with the lyrics about the heart of a person who has an infatuation on someone.
Recently, last July 18, 2011, his latest solo was released. For One Day is an OST for the drama Warrior Baek Dong soo . The song explores an emotional farewell from a lover & it touches the hearts of listeners with the melancholy expressed in his voice. In September 30 2011, he along with Eunhyuk
replaced fellow bandmate Heechul who is currently enlisted into the army to sing with Kim JangHoon in the "Breakups Are So Like Me" performance in Music Bank.

Last June 2011, Yesung joined KBS' Immortal Song where Idol Stars render their own versions of old songs from Music Legends and winners are selected through voting. Yesung unfortunately lost in the first airing of the episode but then emerged as the winner of the third episode when he sang Boohwal's song "The More I Love You". He was supposed to join the show for a few more episodes, but due to Super Junior's schedule, their company had no choice but to pull him out.
