Yitzchak Schochet

Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet is a leading Orthodox rabbi in England.
He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to family of an unbroken chain of Rabbis stretching back for two centuries. His father is Rabbi Jacob Immanuel Schochet
, a known Chabad rabbi and scholar.
Yitzchak Schochet was educated in Toronto, London and New York.
He received his semichah (rabbinic ordination) in 1988, and a Masters Degree in Jewish Studies from University College London
in 1994.
He was Rabbi of Richmond Synagogue from 1991-1993. before being offered the position as rabbi of the Mill Hill Synagogue, at the age of 28, in 1993. His vibrancy and dynamism has resulted in a continuous growth of membership, now in excess of 1400 members.
Having previously served as assistant principle of Oholei Torah
Boys School in Brooklyn, NY, and taught Advanced Jewish Studies at the Jews Free School in London, he currently serves as Principal of the Rosh Pinah Primary School in Edgware.
He serves on the Chief Rabbi's Cabinet with the portfolio of the family and served as chairman of the Rabbinical Council of the United Synagogue
.
He was recently named by the Jewish Telegraph as one of the 10 most influential Rabbis in the United Kingdom. The Jewish Chronicle called him "one of Anglo-Jewry's most dynamic orthodox rabbis."
He frequently appears in the media as a commentator and religiuos authority.
