He was a member of the Japan team for the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship
hosted by Malaysia. He was a member of the Japan team for the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup
and made his international debut in the tournament on June 4, 2001 against Brazil
at Kashima Soccer Stadium. He earned 3 caps between 2001 and 2003 and scored no goals for Japan.
