Plot

1212 B.C.

The book starts off by repeating the Oath of Terces, then begins with a short chapter on a mysterious ibis. It has been sitting perfectly still for an entire day, then suddenly flies off into the golden sunset. Meanwhile, an innocent man is condemned to death, by the order of the pharaoh, one of his physicians. This man has written something on a tiny scrap of papyrus moments before his execution. The ibis could hardly have heard the condemed man's cries, and yet it seems as if the ibis was responding to his call...

Flash Forward to 2011....

Characters

  • Cassandra-She is a survivalist, she always comes prepared with all of her supplies in her knapsack. She is also a member of the secret Terces Society. (Terces, if you noticed, is secret backwards.) She has had her heart set on figuring out a secret that was known only by a certain pharaoh and his advisor, known to them as Dr. Amun.

  • Max Ernest- Cass's friend, and a member of the Terces Society as well. He is very smart, and loves jokes. Sometimes his friends get annoyed from his pointless rants.
