In 2009 many changes happened on the one hand the LSF was renamed in JuLis "JuLis-Junge Liberale Österreich"

This led to the JuLis founding an independent party with the same name
Young Liberals (Austria)

, however their candidate Alegra-Isabel Raising reached only 0.7% in the European Parliament elections and therefore failed to get a seat.
In 2010 there were rumours whether the JuLis would fuse with the economical liberal BZÖ, there were talks Scherak stated, but however he negated a cooperation.

At the 2011 elections the JuLis got 4.32% of the votes and managed to achieve three seats in the national council of the ÖH.
Today there strongest existing link is the connection to the German Young Liberals "Junge Liberale"
