The Young Macedonian Literary Society was founded in 1891 in Sofia together with its magazine Loza. The purpose of the society was twofold: the official one was primarily scholarly and literary. One of the purposes of the magazine of Young Macedonian Literary Society was to defend the idea the dialects from Macedonia to be more represented in Bulgarian language

 as its chairman. In May 1894, after the fall of Stambolov, new step was taken in Sofia by the Macedonian Youth Society as a revival of the Young Macedonian Literary Society. The new group had a newspaper called Glas Makedonski and opened a Reading Room Club. At the end of 1894, members of the Society held two preliminary meetings to discuss plans, and then they called a meeting of Macedonian exiles living in Sofia, at which a Macedonian Committee was elected. They formed in 1895 the “Macedonian Organization”, at the head of which was elected the “Supreme Macedonian Committee
