She began to seriously pursue her manga career starting in middle school.
Her most successful work has been Natsume Yūjinchō, which has been made into three anime series in 2008, 2009, and 2011. The manga sold over 5 million volume copies by the sale of volume 12.

  • In 1998, she won the 18th LMG Fresh Debut award for her debut work Coffee Hirari.
  • In 2000, she won an award by Hakusensha (白泉社アテナ新人大賞デビュー優秀者賞) for Akaku Saku Koe.
