and Rangers
. Rangers won the match 4–0. The match was the last in the long career of Aberdeen goalkeeper Jim Leighton
. His big day was however a sad one, as he was injured after just 3 minutes and was unable to play on. With no goalkeeper on the substitute bench, Robbie Winters
had to go in goal for Aberdeen.
