The league is split into two divisions called the North division and the East division. The North division comprises of 9 teams based in South East Queensland (5 in Brisbane and 4 on the Gold Coast) as well as 1 based in the Northern Territory. The East division contains 5 teams based in the Australian Capital Territory and 2 based in Sydney. The top 3 teams from the 2010 QAFL and the top team from the 2010 AFL Canberra season all qualified for the Foxtel CupFoxtel Cup
