- 3001 the idea was suggested by Rita at the meeting that the two had a MTV Brasil
show that brought together some of tropicalistas on stage. She asked Tom to write a letter that was a continuation of "2001" (recorded by Os Mutantes
in the 60s). The singer explains:
Rita admits that the future -today- and it is not envisioned at the time the classic Tropicalia was composed: "I thought it'd be going in 2001 my vacation on Venus
using the technology of the Jetsons... Traveled legal in mayonnaise because here I am still struggling with Malufs Pittas and astronaut released ... But my living there ad infinitum."
Considered a "musical time machine", 3001 was named "Best Rock album" at the Grammy Latino 2001.
The show also became a special year-end on Brazilian channel, Rede Bandeirantes. The show had several hits from the new album "Você Vem", "Erva Venenosa" and "O Amor Em Pedaços". The 3001 special featured the participation of Caetano Veloso

The 3001 Tour were full of news. Included were songs that were out of the repertoire in concerts. The old hits were not outsiders, however. According to the singer:"There are songs that have almost never been played live, some pearls like Side B of all the discs I've recorded over these 33 years of road and were often overshadowed by the more songs that were hits, as the Future Cleanse me, was the Tutti Frutti - a song bacanuda very current with a letter that never sang live also understand that the public likes to hear the hits and make some arrangements with more oxygen."
