Aberdeen Donside is a constituency
of the Scottish Parliament
(Holyrood
). It will elect one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP)
by the first past the post method of election. Also, however, it is one of nine constituencies in the North East Scotland electoral region
, which elects seven additional members, in addition to nine constituency MSPs, to produce a form of proportional representation
for the region as a whole.
Donside is the successor seat to Aberdeen North
.
The other nine constituencies of the North East Scotland region are Aberdeen Central

Following their First Periodic review of parliamentary constituencies to the Scottish Parliament, the Boundary Commission for Scotland has created three new constituencies for the Aberdeen City council area. These seats, to be formed in time for the next elections in 2011, are Aberdeen Central

, and this constituency.
