Located on the western part of the municipality, Achila overlooks Camotes SeaCamotes Sea

to the north. To the south, it is bounded by Barangay Camambugan, to the east by barangay Tapon and to the west by barangay Humayhumay. Achila has approximate distance of 3 km from the town center, Poblacion.
It is accessible by all kinds of land transportation with a travel time of approximately 10-15 minutes by private vehicles (jeep, motorcycle, automobiles) and approximately 15- 20 minutes by public utility vehicles.

”. As time went by, the Spaniards vacated this place leaving the name Kastila. But many people around pronounced the name Kastila as Achila. Later on, and up to the present, it was pronounced as Achila. At that time Achila was still a sitio of Camambugan. In 1968, residents of wanted Achila to be a separate barrio. In the earlier months, the people selected an officer-in-charge as their leader and in November 15 of the same year, elections were held and the people of Achila elected their first barrio captain. Thus, barangay Achila was created and separated from its mother barangay.
