. That service was previously the main connection between the islands of Barra and South Uist but was not daily and only formed part of the route from Oban-Castlebay-Lochboisdale. Now with the establishment of the small vehicle ferry between Barra and Eriskay, the MV Loch Alainn takes the most traffic from Barra with the exception of large lorries, which still use the MV Clansman.
