According to the folklore, Unniyarcha spurns Chanthu (or Chandu) Chekavar's love for her, which leads to the murder of her brother Aromal Chekavar by Chanthu. Later, Aromalunni, the son of Unniyarcha, takes the revenge against Chanthu.
