AutoKey is a text expansion/replacement utility for Linux
and X11. It is heavily inspired by the commercial Windows software 'PhraseExpress'. It receives keyboard events using one of several methods and uses X events to drive the expansions. AutoKey can be used to replace abbreviations with full phrases, and also to correct spelling mistakes and other typographical errors. AutoKey is known to operate under both the GNOME
and KDE
desktop environments.
