However, on March 1, 2006, she announced that she would be joining Sheriff George Johnson's (D-Anne Arundel) campaign for County Executive as its environmental advisor. However, just days before the filing deadline for candidates, Samorajczyk filed to run for the Maryland House of Delegates
in District 30 after Dick Damato withdrew from the race.
